Adam D. Singer, M.D. has been a director, Chairman, and our Chief Executive Officer since he founded IPC in 1995. In 1991, Dr. Singer acquired a private practice in pulmonary medicine that shortly thereafter merged with two other pulmonary physicians to become part of Consultants For Lung Disease, Inc. (now the Institute for Better Breathing). In 2006, Dr. Singer was designated Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Singer received his B.S. in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles and his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University. Dr. Singer performed a post-doctoral internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary medicine at University of Southern California.

R. Jeffrey Taylor has been a director and our President and Chief Operating Officer since he joined IPC in July 2000. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Taylor was the executive vice president of Atlanta-based Mariner Post-Acute Network. Prior to that Mr. Taylor was chief executive officer of American Outpatient Services, Inc. and held various positions including executive vice president, chief administrative officer and general counsel with American Medical International, Inc. (now Tenet Healthcare Corp.; THC—NYSE). Mr. Taylor received a B.S. from the University of Utah and a J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law. Mr. Taylor has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of acute-care, sub-acute care and the outpatient dialysis segments of the healthcare industry.

Devra G. Shapiro has been our Chief Financial Officer since she joined IPC in March 1998. Prior to joining our company, Ms. Shapiro served as chief financial officer for several start-up healthcare enterprises. From 1985 to 1990, Ms. Shapiro held executive financial positions with EPIC Healthcare Group and American Medical International, Inc. (now Tenet Healthcare Corp.; THC—NYSE). From 1974 to 1984, Ms. Shapiro specialized in healthcare with the public accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Co. Ms. Shapiro received a B.A. and a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Houston. Ms. Shapiro has over 30 years experience as a financial executive and certified public accountant with a background in working with healthcare organizations.

Richard G. Russell has been our Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer since he joined IPC in March 2003. Prior to joining our company, Mr. Russell was senior vice president of information technology and business planning for Cogent Healthcare, Inc., another national hospitalist organization, from 2002 to March 2003. Mr. Russell began his career as a senior consultant with McKinsey & Company and then held executive level positions in several entrepreneurial and high-growth healthcare operating companies.

has over 20 years experience in healthcare consulting and management. Previously, David was Executive Director of IPC's Houston region. Before joining IPC, David was Senior Vice President of a national consulting firm. He provided strategic and business startup consulting to major health systems and healthplans, including startup of HMOs in Texas and Missouri, development and start-up of a physician operating division of a major health system, and merger of 13 single specialty groups into a multi-specialty group. Prior to joining the consulting firm, he founded and was Chief Operating Officer, until its sale, of a behavioral managed care firm. David began his healthcare career as administrator of single and multi-specialty medical groups.
David holds a Master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Gonzaga University.

Mark Citron, who joined IPC in July 1999, is responsible for the development, management and architecture of leading-edge information systems. He came to IPC from Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where he directed the strategy for network and desktop technologies and Oracle development for 11 years. Mark was also responsible for the creation of an advanced clinical data repository that integrated data from disparate hospital systems. Mark currently serves on the board of the Los Angeles Oracle Users Group and is a nationally recognized Oracle applications development expert. Mark received his doctorate in neurobiology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Purdue University. Mark also holds an MBA from USC’s Marshall School of Business.

Bryan joined IPC in January 2004 and oversees IPC’s Central Business Office. He is responsible for the annual corporate budgets and projections, contract revenue, due diligence review, executory contracts, provider economic credentialing, registration, billing, and receivables management. Prior to joining IPC, Bryan was Vice President of Finance for Allied Surgical Centers Management, which manages and operates several ambulatory surgery centers throughout Southern California. Bryan has held senior financial positions at Family Health Care Medical Group, Lincoln Hospital Medical Center, Sherman Oaks Hospital and Health Center, Tenet Healthcare and CIGNA. Bryan earned his BS in business with an accounting concentration from California State University at Los Angeles and his MBA from California Lutheran University. He is also a Certified Management Accountant.

Timothy Lary joined the IPC team as Vice President of Physician Staffing in September 2004. In this position, he directs the physician recruitment and retention strategies for the organization. Tim has more than 15 years of recruitment experience focused in healthcare. Prior to joining IPC, Tim was with US Oncology, a national cancer care company, where he helped grow the network from 240 physicians in 1997 to more than 900 by 2004. Previously, he worked as a consultant with The Rottman Group, a healthcare recruiting firm focused on building and developing management teams within private and public hospitals and healthcare systems. Tim earned his bachelor’ degree in business administration, with a concentration in economics, from Harding University.

Pat joined IPC in 1998 and is the resident architect and designer of the IPC-Link technology. Pat is an experienced computer programmer and trainer who specializes in Oracle products. Pat has presented papers on various Oracle Developer topics at numerous conferences, and he is also president of the Los Angeles Oracle Users Group. Prior to joining IPC, Pat managed software development for an INC-500 company that sold computerized accounting and management systems to the graphic-arts/printing industry throughout North America. Pat graduated from Swarthmore College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and interests in economics and computer science.

Kathy has been with IPC since August 1998. She is responsible for IPC’s clinical data analysis and reporting activities, including design of clinical studies, web-enabled clinical reporting, and other ad hoc analysis. She manages IPC’s Post-discharge Call Center, IPC-Link training for physicians, risk management and billing compliance. Kathy is also the company’s Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer. Prior to joining IPC, Kathleen was Vice President, Health Care for CareAmerica Health Plan. Before that, she was the Vice President of Clinical Services at San Gabriel Valley Medical Center. Kathy holds a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from the University of La Verne and is certified in Healthcare Compliance. She is the author of several publications and has taught numerous healthcare-related courses.

Fernando as been with IPC since April 2001. Previously he was Vice President of Finance at Bentley Health Care, Inc., a national organization that manages and operates physician practices, comprehensive outpatient treatment centers for cancer and end-stage renal disease. Mr. Sarria was previously Chief Financial Officer at Pacific Oaks Medical Group, Inc., one of the largest HIV/AIDS medical providers in the country. Mr. Sarria received a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from California State University, Long Beach. Mr. Sarria has over 20 years of executive healthcare management experience and began his professional career with KPMG as a specialist in healthcare. Mr. Sarria is also a registered CPA in the State of California.

Jamie joined IPC in December 1999 and has responsibilities that include strategic planning and revenue analysis. She supports both corporate and regional operations by providing analysis, auditing and reporting related to accounts receivable, provider productivity, revenue calculation, budgeting, billing, and contracting.. Previously, Jamie managed the analytical department for the physicians at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Her work provided the physicians with an in-depth understanding of their business as well as an effective communication link between the management company and the medical group. Previously, she worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Hawaii (HMSA) in their subsidiary, a 100+ provider dental group. Jamie received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics and master’s degree in education of mathematics from UCLA.

joined IPC in June 2000. She is a member of the Medical Affairs staff and is the program manager for IPC's orientation and mentoring process for physician hires. This includes the development and evaluation of educational materials, management of the specialty training modules, and tracking process and outcome measures.
Prior to joining IPC, Dottie held positions at UniHealth and Catholic Healthcare West - Southern California in developing and managing clinical projects as well as the design and operation of system-wide initiatives. She has experience in the creation of educational modules for advanced practice nurses, acuity system installation and maintenance activities, and project management in areas of compliance, survey preparation, and clinical process improvement.

Dr. Felix Aguirre joined IPC in April 2003 and is responsible for the medical and leadership oversight and development of IPC’s physicians and providers. Dr. Aguirre has been actively involved in hospitalist medicine for more than 13 years. He was a founder of Alamo City Medical Group, which currently employs 20 providers, and Alamo Inpatient Management Systems, which operated in San Antonio from 1996 to 1999, providing hospitalist services for a local MSO and several medical group practices. In 2000 he co-founded Hospitalists of San Antonio and served as president until the company merged with IPC in early 2003. Dr. Aguirre attended The U.S. Military Academy at West Point for undergraduate studies and the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for medical school and residency.

Joining the company in January 2007, Todd is responsible for the IPC’s marketing and public relations programs. Todd also leads new development projects for IPC. Todd brings to IPC nearly 20 years experience in marketing and product development in the healthcare field. He has held senior management positions at Sunrise Medical, Royce Medical and most recently at BioElectronics Corp. Todd has launched new products and services to physicians in the fields of orthopedics, podiatry, rehabilitation and plastic surgery. Todd holds a bachelor’s degree in government from Wesleyan University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Kenneth Epstein, M.D., MBA joined IPC in July 2003 and works collaboratively with the company's practice groups in Denver, Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth to mentor and supervise clinical care in those regions.
At Jefferson Medical College, Dr. Epstein oversaw a division of more than 20 full-time academic physicians plus an additional 15 physicians in affiliated community practices. While there, Dr. Epstein developed a full-time hospitalist model that demonstrated improved care and resource utilization. In addition, he lead a multi-disciplinary team that restructured the Jefferson Sickle Cell Clinic leading to marked improvement in patient care, hospital admissions and pain control.
Dr. Epstein earned his medical degree, and served both his internship and residency, from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. He completed his Master of Business Administration at Fox School of Business and Management, Temple University, in Philadelphia.
